Here’s some fucked up shit! Some Malawian judge named Esme Chondo has gone and denied her Madgesty’s petition for adoption of 3 year old orphan baby Mercy James!
Reading the rounds, I was caught up in not only this news, but the overall responses being posted by the dumbasses of the blog readers in the universe. These have been mainly negative and leave me thinking that there are a LOT of bitter fuckers in the world.
In his decision, Judge Chondo states that “Put simply courts do make law by the process of precedence and Miss Madonna may not be the only international person interested in adopting the so-called poor children of Malawi.”
“By removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children the courts by their pronouncements could actively facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals who would take advantage of the weakness of the law of the land.”
“Anyone could come to Malawi and quickly arrange an adoption that might have grave consequences on the very children that the law seeks to protect.”
“Having considered this then, at the end of the day I must decline to grant the application for the adoption of the infant CJ.”
As usual, I am left in the minority. I seldom think that the laws and the sanctimonious fuckers who sit on the benches and shield their biases with em have the best interest of the child at hand. Were the childs’ welfare to be the priority they would have orchestrated a parade to see her off to a swank address on Central Park West!
Madonna has received the approval of the childs uncles’ Peter Baneti and John Ngalande, who signed off on the adoption proceedings earlier this week, reports Us Magazine. “Mercy is now assured of a good education away from the abject poverty of our village,” they are quoted as saying to Us.
“We support her adoption process,” Information Minister Patricia Kaliati said yesterday, Us goes on to report. “Madonna’s been good to us. She’s supporting over 25,000 orphans in this country, and she’s proved she can take care of David.”
As with any adoption proceeding that gets caught up in the bureaucracy of red tape, it is the child who suffers and is left to muddle through the system. Damn shame…
I haven’t lost faith in Madge. What she wants she always gets! I am sure she isn’t going to let some half assed attention seeking fucker on some bench in Malawi stop her from getting this to happen…
