Becki Newton, Micael Urie and America Ferrera Film Betty Scenes in Gramercy

Ugly Betty has been canceled, reports USA Today.  As if ABC’s constant interruption of my favorite reason to turn on my flat screen wasn’t enough, they have now gone and made some executive suit decision to make the fourth season its last!

This is by far the worst way to start a new decade for Betty fans – including myself. 

Stars America Ferrera, Vanessa Williams, Michael Urie, Becki Newton and my favorite – Ana Ortiz, are being afforded 20 episodes on its new Wednesday night slot to bring closure to its four year run. 

“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion,” ABC chief Steve McPherson says in a statement.

Punk ass bitch!  I wish he would say this to my face!

I have been suspecting this was an impending outcome to having its original Thursday night slot switched to Fridays prior to relocating it to Wednesdays.  But with so little of interest on that air it strikes a blow to my remote that I don’t see it recovering from for quite sometime.

I call for starting a “Save Betty” facebook page to demand the network retract its cancellation of one of the most colorful shows on the air present day.

Don’t get me wrong, I know that the show arrived with a built in expiration date as it mirrored its “Betty la Fea” novela spin-off with Betty ultimately achieving a full transformation from ugly duckling into a swan but I AM NOT READY, Damnit!
