Zoe Kravitz receives Rising Star Tribute award at the 8th Annual Bahamas International Film Festival
Day two of the Bahamas International Film Festival turned into a home welcoming for Bahamian native and “X-Men: First Class” cast member Zoe Kravitz. The night then redirected into a Q&A with Jeffrey Lyons, at the Atlantis Screening Room, where the young thespian tackled a bevy of questions from her family roots (don’t make like you don’t know who those folks are) to trying to make her own money, honey.
And to commemorate her steady fast-track in the world of cinema, Kravitz received the Rising Star Tribute award as one of the young stars to watch out for on the big screen.
The evening was additionally accented by Kravitz having celebrated her 23 birthday, just the day before.
How’s that for a multi one-two punch?
Now, we being the gluttonous folk we are, we’d have taken the opportunity and gone one step further by having a cake brought out by a bunch of hot Bahamians to put it over the top. (Don’t you dare judge us!)
Kravitz took to the stage and appeared at ease with a bevy of questions thrown her way, ranging from her career choices and making her way in the world to working for her own paycheck and being in a waiting room with a room-full of tall leggy blondes.
At 5.2, that could potentially be daunting, but clearly not to high a hurdle.
We happen on seeing the NYC resident at a variety of events in Gotham and are fully aware of her low-key yet casual approach to the hoopla of media interest – at times shunning it altogether.
It can be trifling at times, we know…
But we must say that hearing her speak of her auditioning practices and what motivates her professionally, in the way of what roles to pursue, some of which, she says, are not always intended for someone of her background, was intriguing.
No silver spoon is ever without its own trials & tribulations.
We also simply adored her choice of attire – a white cropped sleeveless top paired with a long black skirt slit on the side and black stilettos. A perfect compliment to her new super-cropped bangs.
Congrats to Kravitz on her award and a happy belated birthday, girl. And may you get many more!
