Ben Stiller films The Secret Life of Walter Mitty in Riverdale, NY
Ben Stiller is one of our own. Don’t go getting that twisted… By one of our own we mean a native NY-ker. We are not one of the chosen folk and have a bank account to prove it! But as a fellow NY-kers go, we often feel compelled to show the love – especially when its in keeping with the road we are traveling on. Mr. Focker happened on bringing the set for his new film “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” to the Riverdale section of NY and, as we were driving adjacent to the set, we thought to stop by and quickly snap a few pics. What could be the harm in that?
Now, of course the thought of his co-stars being present did occur to us… A few candids of the female leads wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Well, they weren’t!
But since we went thru the trouble of parking, we continued our pursuit of showing the love to our fellow compadre.
Mr. Stiller, however, felt otherwise. And he was less than gracious when he happened on walking past our designated station, a ways away from the set, on his way back to his behemoth of a trailer parked alongside the H.H. Pkway.
We respectfully asked for a quicky and walk on by he went, without so much as a sideways glance.
Necessary?
Hardly!
But if we don’t run for Julianne Moore (& we still won’t,) we are not going to two-step it for Stiller.
No offense.
And his sentiment extended to an awaiting fan as well.
One Riverdale resident attempted to approach Mr. Stiller, as the set was breaking for lunch, and sheepishly asked for a photo with the comedian only to find herself rebuffed unkindly by his team.
Now ain’t that some shit?
Mr. Man can come into the hood – of his own people no less – and commandeer the parking but can’t take a 10 seconds to appease a resident.
Hmmmm.
Makes you wonder.
Good luck with the film Mr. Stiller.
