Aging socialite and annual Angel Ball hostess, Denise Rich – you may also know her as a one time songwriter who married well and got beaucoup cash after she left said husband who was later indicted on multiple charges only to be pardoned by Clinton – has gone and dropped her American passport like it was hotter than a Riviera summer day and expatriated for an EU based passport that will not only save her millions in taxes but also put her in closer proximity to her man, Peter Cervinka, reports state. Did we mention that the move also saves her millions in taxes!
Ain’t that some shit? Evidently it’s no longer enough to be America’s 1 %.
Reuters brings us the news of Rich’s - a part-time NY resident – impromptu departure and exchange in citizenship in pursuit of holding onto her well earned cash. Cuz, come on now, she worked hard for that money honey!
The report also re-sheds light on Rich looking to unload her humble NY home to the tune of $65 million. The Corcoran Group, managing agent which listed the apartment this past January, touts Rich’s Manhattan apartment as ”the epitome of luxury and grandeur,” which comes equipped with “seven bedrooms, 11 baths, three kitchens, a 22-person dining room, media room, billiard room, private gym and a professional recording studio.” Little wonder as to why Forbes refers to the penthouse as “the largest-ever co-op penthouse offering on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue.” It’s a steal for sure.
No word on her plans for her Aspen, Colorado estate.
But her multiple residences pale in comparison to her floating abode, Lady Joy, which stretches some 157 ft. of high-seas luxury yachting.
The twist we can’t fully reconcile comes in the listed final destination by Mrs. Rich. The UK.
Although Mrs. Rich will be acquiring an Austrian citizenship, she will be looking to hold court in London. An act which comes with – you guessed it – an Austrian tax break for residing outside the country issuing citizenship.
But London is twice the price of the USA and slightly higher than the Euro, though of course this is mere pittance for the comfort of being close to royalty – not to mention all the $$$ being saved already.
Rich joins some 1800 citizens who have handed in their blue passports for greener pastures. Including that of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin. And at this rate, the only folks left around will be those who can wholeheartedly afford to be here no how. What? NYC is not for the feign of cash!
And don’t get us started on where shit will go if Romney gets into office!

Unless the US is going to build a wall to keep its citizens in – oh… that was already done somewhere else – let anyone who wants to leave …go! This has no bearing on anything and is yet another shinny object placed in the view of taxpayers to distract.
