New structure at the World Trade Center site on the rise – Sept, 2012.
Let us say that we are of the many who will forever have September 11th permanently engrained in our psyche. We, like the millions of others worldwide, watched the story unfold live – completely in disbelief. Truly left speechless. And much like our thoughts eleven years ago, we still feel that it taste a whole-nother level of zealot to carry out the heinous acts performed on that fated morning. One which we will truly never understand.
Never a moment passes where we are dashing through the streets of Gotham that we don’t look to the Southern skyline and miss the Twin majestic towers that once graced our views.
A site to behold!
We recall with sorrow having worked the Marc Jacobs post-runway presentation on the piers which afforded a Twin Towers view on Sept 10th and, as always, marveled at their simplicity and stature.
For so long now the area has been nothing more than a hole – one which served as a painful reminder of just how quickly all you take for granted can come crashing down.
While we don’t believe that this new Freedom Tower will ever rise to the grandeur of what came before it, it is a welcomed sight to behold a new structure filling what was left empty – and almost with a new extension of the Hudson River pooled into the mainland.
So while NBC plugs the likes of the money hungry Kardashian’ lot – are they truly hurting that badly? – we wish to extend our continued condolences to the families permanently affected by a senseless act which only resulted in further losses to multiple cultures the world over.
May we never forget.
