Cary Elwes in the 1980′s classic film The Princess Bride.
Today will see The Film Society of Lincoln Center Film Festival’s commemoration of the 1980′s classic The Princess Bride, which starred Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin and our childhood crush Cary Elwes. No! We are not dating ourselves, it’s simple as what it is. We crushed on Elwes deeply. No beauty had we ever witnessed as a child to rival his yum-ness! (Tom B. in High School but that was some many years later…)
Elwes embodied the beauty incarnate of all things princely. Perfection.
Countless hours did we spend sequestered behind a locked door envisioning those lips tenderly touching private parts as his supple hairless torso lowered itself onto ours for a taste… Don’t judge!
But time has passed and beauty has gone with it. And presently, as is often the case, looking at Elwes is a painful reminder that aging is seldom pretty. Or kind.
Time wreaks havoc to beauties path!
As such, we will kindly fore go coverage of the red carpet event in the hopes of keeping ourselves from having to face head on how vicious the passage of years can be on something as delicate as beauty. Leaving in its after-math the remote semblance of something that once was…
We will continue to seek solace in the immortalization of the deity he was rather than confront reality. We do wish all the very best.
