The latest installment of the X-Men saga – X-Men: Days Of Future Past – starring Jennifer Lawrence, Famke Jansen, Ellen Page and Fan BingBing, among a bevy of other a-listers, commandeered the Jacob Javitz Center, on the WSH, for the world premiere last night to a bevy of glitz, screams and weak knees.
Sure it was situated in one of the hardest to get to spaces of Manhattan but children and grown ass folks alike paid that no-never mind and camped out overnight – fully equipped with tents – for the opportunity of getting first crack at a special viewing.
Drama was everywhere as folks clambered for the best location inside to best get a look-see of their fave mutant – and not just on the fan side of the equation either… Not to mention the pursuit of the much coveted t-shirt… (Ok, that last part was our own! Sue us.)
The drama played itself out on the press line as well.
One photog is said to have cried at having wished they had been endowed with the good fortune to be ushered into last minute spacing at the beginning of the press line.
“It’s not fair” accusations were thrown and PR folks were chased down in attempts at redirecting merits to no avail…
Odd how ‘it’s not fair’ becomes the final argument when you aren’t getting your way… Food for thought.
We have been patiently waiting on the arrival of this worlds colliding installation and breathe a sigh of relief that the final hours to its big screen release is almost upon us.
Other notable mentions: A stunningly clad Emma Roberts and the fashion faux pas of the evening, Ms. Zosia Mamet – seriously, it looked like she was wearing two lamp shades for a pair of pants.
