Ryan Gosling: I’ve Lost Perspective on What I’m Doing

“The more opportunities I’m given, the more I learn about how easy it is to fuck it up,” Ryan Gosling tells AP when questioned about his impending hiatus from the big screen.  “You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It’s like trying to exercise some restraint because I do have so much freedom,” he goes on to say. Read the rest of this entry »

Eva Mendes: Last Night Premiere

Eva Mendes premieres “Last Night” during the TFF Festival

We looked on our desktop and realized we totally missed putting up our TFF coverage of the “Last Night” premiere.  This omission may have something to do with our having seen a screener copy of the flick already.  Let’s just say we were less than impressed with Kiera Knightley’s performance.

It’s as if she phoned it in.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Other Guys: World Premiere

Eva Mendes and Mark Wahlberg at The Other Guys World Premiere in NYC

“The Other Guys'” world premiere took place in NYC last night.  And the step-and-repeat seemed to go on for a lifetime – even with some cast members missing.

We rarely get THE premiere here in gotham – sometimes we get overlooked entirely.  Salt for instance!  So this truly was a big to do.

Eva Mendes rocked a grey cocktail dress and black stilettos – the bow was diviine girl!, while her costars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Ray Stevenson looked all so handsome.

But it was Ray Stevenson who caught my attention.  Why, you may ask?  Well you might recall him from the HBO “Rome” series.  He played that kickass alpha-male with a heart of gold.  On the carpet he exuded testosterone and I was giddywith excitement.  I swear I wanted to leap into his arms and find myself protected and manhandled!  (Don’t you judge now…)

Also in attendance were the yummy Bobby Cannavale, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans Jr. and Mr. Samuel L. Jackson – who I happened to spot at Jones Beach a few weeks ago sporting a Speedo.  No, I didn’t have time to snap a photo.  The camera is not attached to a limb I tell y’all!

Other notable attendees:  Brooke Shields, Lindsay Sloan, Jimmy Fallon, Rob Thomas, Zoe Lister Jones – wearing what can only be described as a “American Pie faux-pas – and Tess Kartel.

Met Gala Wrap UP

I am finally wrapping up my Met Gala Costume Institute photo roundup.  And as such I am giving you all the heavy hitters of the red carpet.

Beauties: Zoe Saldana (who would not let me take a photo of her arriving at her hotel a few nights before the event,) Emmy Rossum, Emma Watson, Eva Mendes, Gwen Stefani, Demi Moore, Matthew Morrsion, Jude Law, Hugh Dancy, Sienna Miller (getting that photo was work I tell you, ) Kate Hudson, Kerry Washington, Kirsten Dunst, Oprah and Rachel Weisz – to name a few!  (Damn, my carpel tunnel just flared!) Eternally Mendes

Here’s a recent shot of Calvin Klein spokeswoman – Eva Mendes, while she enjoys filming a restaurant scene from her latest project “Last Night.”

Earlier in the night Ms. Mendes agreed to be pap’d while walking from her trailer along with her handler and security companion – and even took a short moment to thank me for asking if she’d be cool with it. (I try to rid myself of that but damn thing keeps coming back…)

De nada, belleza…

Now if she would only rub off on her co-star Keira Knightley. That piranha looking stick is as cold as her homeland!

Cuba Libre!

Dressed Down Mendes

I caught up with a stoic Eva Mendes, in torn jeans, purple hat and grey sweater, heading to a rehearsal on the set of her next flick “Last Night,” currently filming on location in NYC.

Flanked by her overweight bodyguard (he looked like he was about to have quintuplets,) in a pair of leather pants and film crew – she excited her trailer, Jackie-O sunglasses firmly in place, and proceeded to head into a local bar being utilized for their scene.

Girl never cracked a smile. I tried my damnedest to get a reaction, shy of yelling Cuba Libre! but nothing…

So much for Latin solidarity! Hija, has algo por los pobre…

A Wave of Women!

Hurray for Hollywood! An original film about and solely starring women. Its about time. Oh, but wait – what, it’s a remake? Damn, but its a stellar cast… Shit, I’d watch Annette Benning opening a Fed-Ex delivery and cry Bravo – and Jada knows how to keep it real on film!
And so with this revelation and the summer heat steadfastly behind us, the estrogen levels rose for a special screening of The Women here in Metropolis. Here is an overview of the changes we were put through…

Meg Ryan, in a basic black mock-turtle neck knee length dress with knee-high black high heeled boots! (Girl, I know you were feeling the change in that ensemble. But your lips looked nice and plump.)

Debi Mazar working the line of pap-pers like a pro, in a bustier cream colored cocktail dress and strappy high-heeled shoes with clutch… Work those eyebrows sweets!

Jada Pinkett-Smith in vintage black & white Dior and louboutin stilettos. (The weave was a bit harsh and the belt unnecessary on the one shoulder ruffle top – remember less is more.) Clik on link to see GoFugYourself’s version.)

Eva Mendes in a gold embellished shimmery number with matching gold strappy heels and black clutch. The girl can work sultry in a sack… Cuba Libre!

Maggie Rizer, the one-time supermodel, in Bohemia moo-moo with a dashing man on her arm. The red Jacket is a Nice touch Maggie.
Valentino wearing a basic dark suit and tie and a tan that by now must be as deeply rooted as his fashion line. (Can I come aboard that little boat of yours? My pale ass could use some of your sun!)
And the man, legend, myth – the one who disproves debauchery is bad for you: Mick Jagger. Rock on Mick….
