Juanes: on Cuban Frontier

Here are Miguel Bose, Olga Tanon and Colombian hotness – Juanes in a photo sent out to soften the negative impact within the Latin stateside community.

And by community I mean Miami’s Cuban media monopoly! The participants of this concert, aptly titled “Peace Without Frontiers” – taking place today, in the Communist run Caribbean island of Cuba, have been besieged by attacks from every possible angle by our very own people.

I say fuck em! This too shall pass and soon they will have moved onto something else.

Eva Longoria: Two Toned

Having told y’all bout how I walked my ass out of the People en Espanol “50 Most Beautiful” event a few days ago, I was left with NO images.

That is until a good friend of mine saw fit to bestow this pic of Eva Longoria for my little site. (Mercie beaucoup, NK!)

Now, I don’t care to rehash the circumstances that led me to bid adieu to the venue. Suffice to say that when someone points out to me that I “can always leave” after I inquire about working conditions, I do just that!

Of course this would be the time when Long-whoria decides to wear something other than basic black to a red carpet! Cosmic…

But now that I have this photo I can’t help but notice that it appears the folks in the makeup dept must have decided to fully Latinize our South of the Border girl! Cuz her face and natural tone appear to change shades, rather dramatically I might add…

I don’t mind telling you that this is a commonly used practice in the Latin community by folks of darker shades. It might be the 21st Century but that means nothing in Univision circles.

Our people of color are always being made to appear lighter than they really are! (Olga Tanon, anybody?) White is still the light!
