Sex and The City 2: The Women

Kim Cattrall Evokes a 1920's Flapper-esque Look at The Sex and The City World Premiere in NYC

Sex and the City 2 – the sequel to that highly lucrative big screen adaptation spun from the majorly lucrative HBO show, created from the tales of one Candace Bushnell, hit New York City hard last night with its world premiere at Radio City Music Hall to wows and cheers from the gathered crowds.  And much like the posters for the May 27th release and guaranteed mega-blockbuster – it was all about the fashion!  The ladies of the night: Sarah Jessica Parker (in Valentino,) Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon proved – yet again – that its all in a day of gowns, accessories and of course – SHOES!

And their girlfriends took note from of their lead and delivered their own powerful accents to the half-block long carpet arrivals step-and-repeat clad with chandeliers.  Among those in attendance:  Alexandra Ambrossio, Ashanti, Vanessa Williams, Becki Newton, Bo Derek, Michelle Trachtenberg, Liza Minelli (finally in something other than basic black,) Jessica Szohr, Julissa Bermudez, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Britney Port, Gabourey Sidibe, Alice Eve and the fashion faux pas of the night:  Suzanne Somers.

Now, before you go asking why I bestow one time “Three’s Company” allum with such a mention – I have to point to the age inappropriateness of her attire.  At her age less is way more – case and point:  Bo Derek, who still looks ravishing and although dressed down her beauty but still shined.  Forever a 10!  (god bless her good doctors and all.)  And who the hell has ever looked good in a short cocktail ruffled dress?

More Sex and The City!

Damn! Just when I thought this shit was over comes word there is to be more!

Word out is that there is to be more Sex and The City via a sequel.
The contrived big screen adaptation of the hit HBO show wasn’t all that great. Weak storyline, predictable ending and way to old cast! But there is to be another part.

The Frisky has reported on this and I am conflicted. “We made the conscious choice to not think about a life prior to New York City,” Parker is quoted as stating. So what are they going to cover now? Will we be made to endure the struggles of “the change”? Cuz even in a this role the women are too old for anything else…

Sex & The Last Climax!

Milking it – till its last drip, “Sex & The City: The Movie” held its DVD launch at the Public Library last night. With the promise of fashion, Blahnik’s and an extended version, hordes of international pressers filled the arrivals tent to witness, presumably, the last climax in the Candace Bushnell miasmic tell-tales of one desperate woman, and her partners in crime, looking for a man! Girl, that story is on a loop…

Cast members, Kim Cattrall – showcasing her itty-bitty-titty committee cleavage – wowed in pants-jacket combo, taking a moment to pose with young buck, Alan Wyse, as only she could; Cynthia Nixon donned the lipstick lesbian cocktail ensemble, while Sarah Jessica Parker donned basic black, with gloves and – of course, Blahnik red pumps, grey clutch and a french twist. I ain’t never liked you but I’ll be damned if you don’t work some fashion… And the homo, Mario Cantone – never to be upstaged, snatched up a heel and created scene stealing drama for the pap-pers. Work it out, girl!

But fear not… The story may continue as Bushnell is said to be scribing the pre-quels of Carrie’s pre-Blahnik story as you read. Let’s just hope its not a retro-throwback to “Square Pegs”.
