Michelle Williams: Shutter Island Beauty
Posted by Native NYker in martin scorsese, michelle williams, premiere, upcoming movies on February 18, 2010
Michelle Williams, for once, appeared to be enjoying the mayhem that ensued upon her arrival to the “Shutter Island” NYC premiere, held at the Ziegfeld Theater, last night. Refreshing.
Clad in a one-shouldered ruffle white Armani cocktail dress and black strappy stilettos, she laughed and paid her step-and-repeat duties without much of her usual ambivelance. Something the 60+ gathered paps – three rows deep – appreciated. Myself included.
Am not to sold on the hair but lets keep it light and gay, shall we…
The film looks to be quintessential Scorsese and we are all set for a night at the movies this upcoming weekend. Any takers please feel free to contact us A.S.A.P.!
Russell Brand: Get Him to the Greek Trailer
Posted by Native NYker in get him to the greek, russell brand, trailer, upcoming movies on February 15, 2010
Russell Brand and Johnah Hill spent a portion of the ’09 Summer filming in various NYC locales. Always with some antics ensuing. Some of which I managed to get a few pics of during their Central Park scenes.
This here is my fave – Brand taking a time out during a friendly game of Soccer with some kids to cool off with some “snow.” Classic 80′s decadence.
Well there is now a trailer for the flick. And although I have learned, the hard way, that a good trailer does not always translate to a good film – I reel at how many times I’ve been duped – I have to say it looks like there may be some funny moments. (Sue me for getting British humor, I still roll off my couch watching AbFab!)
The film is scheduled for release this summer and that gives us enough time to deliberate on signing on to fork over a price of admission. Take a look-see.
Jennifer Garner: Valentine’s Day Promotion
Posted by Native NYker in jennifer garner, letterman show, sade, upcoming movies on February 10, 2010
Jennifer Garner flew in to NY for a promotional David Letterman appearance, fresh off the LA ”Valentine’s Day” premiere.
She is soft on the eyes, but lets face it, with an army of stars in that flick, she is a poor consolation prize given the amount of stars that attended the film’s red carpet in LA this past weekend.
Playing her proverbial “average mom” bit, she flashed her dimpled smile and actually thanked the gathered hord of photographers for waiting on her.
I would love to be able to say ‘you’re welcome,’ but in truth I made the pilgrimage down to the Letterman stage door for Sade, who was his musical guest.
Alas, it was not to be – the crooner raced by the press line and all I managed to obtain was a semi-profile shot that left me sulking and whimpering.
I have little choice but to wait on her return to NY when she launches her tour. And as I have waited almost ten years for her new recordings (which joyously arrived today!) I can wait on the tour…
Wall St. II: Money Never Sleeps Trailer
Posted by Native NYker in michael douglas, shia labeouf, Uncategorized, upcoming movies on January 30, 2010
“Wall St. 2: Money Never Sleeps’” trailer is out already - even though the film ain’t set for release for quite some more time.
But I dare say that Oliver Stone’s update on the retro throwback 80′s tale of yuppie excess and greed looks to be well worth the wait!
I especially love how the scene in the trailer spoofs how much time has passed since the original came, became a phenom and went on to glory all those many years ago.
Shia appears to shine in this flick and it may lead his fine ass down the award nominations road come 2011! As for Douglas… That’s a lot of work papi… Time looks to have been surgically kind.
I ain’t judging, just making an observation.
Mila Kunis: Book of Eli Prem
Posted by Native NYker in denzel washington, mila kunis, upcoming movies on January 12, 2010
Mila Kunis has graduated onto the big screen and can presently be seen in “The Book of Eli,” costarring opposite hot chocolate himself – Denzel Washington.
As a habitual “That 70′s Show” reruns viewer I am all to happy for Jackie. And when girlfriend stepped onto the carpet looking like the daughter of Angelina, I couldn’t help but tell her how fabulous she looked. Total beauty queen. I could’ve done without the basic black if for only editorial reasons – but rock on!
Other notable attendees: “The Blind Side’s” Quinton Aaron, Ice Cube, Rosario Dawson – who skipped the black carpet, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’s” Taraji Henson, one time “Desperate Housewives’” hottie Jesse Metcalfe, Malcolm McDowell, Jennifer Beals, Joe Pingue and Magic Johnson.
Robert Downey Jr.: Iron Man 2 Trailer

While my ass has been running myself into exhaustion on holiday, the new “Iron Man 2″ trailer has been released. (Thank you EthanSays!)
Robert Downey Jr. is a god. And although five months seems like an eternity to wait, I will have to cross my legs and endure the pain – or just go re-watch “Sherlock Holmes which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Seriously y’all, Jude Law and Rob are an intense experience.
Can’t wait for this one though…
Brittany Murphy: Deadline Artwork Pulled
Posted by Native NYker in brittany murphy, upcoming movies on December 27, 2009
Brittany Murphy’s untimely death from a heart attack at 32 remains overwhelming and difficult to process. Seriously, WTF? Talk about sudden, unexpected and undeserved.
Senseless really. A girl with no less than four films still awaiting release was taken from a world that was much brighter with her in it.
Now comes word that Redbox is officially pulling the artwork from one of Murphy’s last film projects due to the nature depicted, reports the BBC.
This poster for “Deadline,” a straight to DVD film co-starring Murphy, Thora Birch and Marc Blucas, depicts a lifeless woman’s body in a bathtub believed to be Murphy.
I can’t wrap myself around why anything with Murphy would go straight to DVD. That girl is a wonder to watch on the big screen. Throw in a theme described by IMDB as a thriller where a “screenwriter travels to an abandoned house to finish a script on time, but a series of strange events lead her to a psychological breakdown,” and it’s sure to deliver a good performance. Murphy could give you crazy…
Among her other unreleased projects listed as being in post-production are: “Abandoned,” “Something Wicked” and “The Expandable.”
Jude Law: Repo Man!
Posted by Native NYker in jude law, upcoming movies on December 25, 2009
How much of a tickle would it be to have Jude Law serve as your “Repo Man?” I know I’d let him come take anything he’d want from me. Without a struggle – or maybe a little one, depending on how he’d want it.
Well get set to see him on-screen doing just this. Although I am not sure that what I am talking about is necessarily what the premise of the film is exactly…
Law has had a busy year and even though I believe he hightailed it out of NY shortly after the closing of his “Hamlet” Broadway stint and his “Holme’s” premiere commitment, I am at peace cuz I know his fine ass will get a much deserved TONY nomination and will be back! Believe, baby, believe.
JLo: The Back-up Plan Trailer
Posted by Native NYker in alex oloughlin, jennifer lopez, trailer, upcoming movies on December 21, 2009
Keeping with utilizing photos from film sets I have had the opportunity of patronizing – here is the accompanying trailer to Jennifer Lopez’s new film “The Back-up Plan,” which co-stars Alex O’Loughlin.
The film spent a loooong time on location in and around New York City earlier this year and one must confess that JLo was most accommodating to the hord of photographers, both at her trailer and while on set (in between takes, please!) Muchas gracias bella.
It is good to see her returning to the romantic comedy schpiel; something that she is actually good at. Cuz let’s face it, the current song bites the big one and makes one want to turn on our heels to the alternative, Jimmy Choo! And I especially love how she is always paired with an interracial hook-up of the caucasion persuasion. I understand it, completely, given that I love me some vanilla.
Watch for Alex’s torso in the trailer, as it is sure worth the price of admission! Brother has an eight-pack.
Johnny Depp: MoMA Chaos

Johnny Depp has been named People Magazine’s 2009 “Sexiest Man Alive”. There’s a no brainer! His body (of work) is as well seasoned as adobo. Lick-able.
