Anne Hathaway: Les Miserables NYC Premiere

Anne Hathaway takes basic black down an S&M road at the Les Miserables NYC premiere.

Anne Hathaway takes basic black down an S&M road at the Les Miserables NYC premiere.

The latest Broadway musical cross-over sensation that is Les Miserables brought their power-packed cast to Gotham for an East Coast premiere.  And how could we miss the this pre-xmas treat!  Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Russell Crowe and Sacha Baron Cohen – along with their pint-sized co-star Isabelle Allen – all shot into town for their dutiful sashay down the half-block tented red-carpet.

We are often cautious of musicals – especially on film – but all you have to say is Hugh Jackman and we are at the ready with hand stretched out for our ticket!   That man can do no wrong.

Throw in the opportunity of witnessing the hotel phone throwing Crowe in a crooning spot and it promises to be top notch entertainment.

But what is up with Redmayne’s hair?

Don’t act like y’all can look at this here pic of the mod-hottie and wonder anything but the same.  We love ourselves some Redmayne and would push Balanchine down the stairs for a spot licking his left cheek-bone, but we took in his coif and said HELL NO!

Re-do.

And would it hurt Crowe to loose a few lbs?

Other notable attendees:  Cheyenne Jackson, Norm Lewis, George Blagden, Aaron Tvelt, Paul Dano with Zoe Kazan and Zach Braff, among others.

Marion Cotillard: The Ladies at The Dark Knight Rises World Premiere

French Beauty and OSCAR winner Marion Cotillard attends The Dark Knight Rises world premiere in NYC.

The summer movie of 2012 that we all have been waiting for brought its world premiere to Gotham last night accompanied by a bevy of beauties.  The Dark Knight Rises leading ladies, OSCAR winner Marion Cotillard and the newest member of the feline on-screen species Anne Hathaway were joined by Junot Temple, Michelle Trachtenberg, cropped hair Bahamian Zoe Kravitz and Hailee Steinfeld on the black carpet which spanned a city block.

Let’s face it y’all, this Batman installment will by far blow all that have come before and after clear out of the waters.  ‘Spider who’ some will be saying…  And yes, we are fully on board!

It’s only fitting that this would mark the 1st stop for the film given the use of NY as its backdrop.

And for that we thank the powers that be!

As for rumors swirling on Hathaway’s alleged pregnancy…  She sure wasn’t showing any indication of such in her virginal white gown.

Anne Hathaway: Cat Woman Crawls Into Letterman Show NYC

Anne Hathaway stops by The Letterman Show in NYC to promote The Dark Knight Rises.

We simply adore Anne Hathaway.  She is pretty, stylish and can throw a dash of sass at a moments notice.  Professionally, her roles have been steadfastly improving since her debut as that frizzy haired princess, for the better, consistently, and they don’t appear to be wavering.  Bravo, Diva!  However, does this a Cat Woman make?  Was she truly the best go-to candidate?  Will she be as memorable as those donning the body hugging suits before her?  And, NO!  Halle Berry does not count!  Well the answer to these questions and likely more is fast approaching as The Dark Knight Rises is on the imminent horizon.

And with the launch date now firmly in place and on the fast track to a theater near you, beauty queen has pumped the clutch to the promotional whirlwind and put her revved up stilettos into plugging the highly anticipated film while in NYC – the center of all things publicity – for the reportedly last installment of the Batman mega-blockbusters.

Can’t call her uncommitted!

But don’t rule out another Dark Knight flick  just yet cuz $$$ talks where these films are concerned.

We caught up with Hathaway during her Letterman Show stop, yesterday, after a week of non-stop bookings and were not disappointed.  Sporting her new Les Miz cropped hair, that fair skin and all that jazz flapper ensemble, Hathaway exited her car and threw on a the last of the need accessories – a smile, for the press line, and played for a minute before wriggling her way across the street to a hoard of awaiting fans.

CBS cares.

We don’t however see her fully executing the Cat Woman role as coquettishly as Michelle Pfeiffer did all them years back.  No offense to Hathaway.  But this film is a MUST SEE!

Stay tuned as the NY premiere is set for a few days from now.

Anne Hathaway: One Day NY Premiere

Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess premiere One Day in NYC

Anne Hathaway brought her trans-Atlantic romantic comedy “One Day” to NYC’s UWS earlier this week.  Along with her co-star Jim Sturgess and Patricia Clarkson.  Clad in an off the shoulder black cocktail dress with gold embellishment, she presented a vision of beauty on the step-and-repeat.

The one time Princess Diaries star has come a long way – including shedding the baby fat.  Girl is a stellar beauty.

And the crowd goes wild for Hathaway.  Rightfully so.  We for sure can’t wait to see what she does with the role of Catwoman.

This movie on the other hand – well, opening weekend might see a different outcome.

We personally love the genre.  And still we blame Disney for the fuckery.  We just aren’t so sure in this case the premise will resonate with audiences given its similarities to Before Sunset.

No matter, we are sure Hathaway delivers a stellar performance as she always delivers on-screen.

Other notable attendees:  Michael Michele, Spiderman’s Reeve Carney, Coco Rocha, Beth Ostrosky-Stern and director Lone Scherfig.

Amanda Seyfried: The Women of Vanity Fair

Little Red Riding Hood's Amanda Seyfried at the Vanity Fair 2011 Party in West Hollywood

Of all the beauty at the Vanity Fair OSCAR party, held at The Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood – and there was tons – we have to say that Amanda Seyfried stopped us in our tracks.  The girl is not only beautiful but playful.  If only we were straight we would look to whisk her and that white fabulous frock and beautiful eyes of hers off to the Casba for a romp!

Yes, VF was loaded with all the beautiful women Hollywood has to offer – Gwyneth Paltrow sparkling in a one-shouldered shimmery form hugging gown, Jennifer Hudson looking stunning in orange, Kate Beckinsale demonstrating exactly how basic black should be worn, Sofia Vergara and her amazing curves, Kerry Washington sporting a Studio 54 ready disco chic number, Hailee Steinberg conveying youth and elegance, Charlize Theron in white, Anne Hathaway dazzling in burgundy, Ginnifer Goodwin – loved the do and the frock, Emma Roberts looking simple and elegant, Anika Noni Rose in peach.

There were other eye-catchers, just peruse the gallery below and you will get the idea – but we have a soft spot for Little Red Riding Hood. Sue us.

But of course there have to be fashion faux pas. Glee’s Lea Michele – what the hell kind of blue sequins Frankenstein number was that? Madonna – where did she think she was going? And Cameron Diaz – we’ve seen you in that micro-mini style dress before. We get it, you have long legs.

If you go the way of commenting on our tardiness – well, you can stop now! Our West Coast run was tiresome and not so warm… We had to return to NY to thaw out. But in the end it was all worthwhile… especially now that we have caught up on some rest and revisited our coverage.

Met Gala Recap

Anne Hathaway revisits a princess look for the 2010 Met Gala

It pains me to have to say this (seriously, I am still recovering) but the annual happenings of The Met Gala is too much of a good thing.  True that there is no other event in NYC that rivals – not even Fashion Week – its level of star power. But covering its three hour arrivals slot is exhausting – to say the least – leaving you to have to play catch up for days – case and point: my doing this recap today.

Celebrities from every corner of entertainment – from fashion to sociallites to Hollywood and beyond – all cluster onto the steps of the famed museum for the annual unveiling of The Costume Institute’s high-brow exhibit.

It is my understanding that some have even cried for an invite.  I can’t say I fault em really.  I myself would perform Cirque du Soleil numbers just to get to cover it – I won’t say anything about what I’d be willing to do to attend…

But the night isn’t without its high lights for us minions.  For me watching Naomi Watts’ reaction to being told to move as Jude Law and Sienna Miller walked behind her up the stairs is priceless.  No offense to Ms. Watts.

Now that I am semi-recovered I’ve put together a highlight of attendees at whats become NYC’s version of the West Coast’s awards season:  Daniel Craig, Emma Roberts, Naomi Watts, Janet Jackson, Anne Hathaway, Rosario Dawson, Abbie Cornish and Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady – to name a few.  Stay tuned for another recap.
