Ben Stiller: Secret Life of Walter Mitty Film Set

Ben Stiller films The Secret Life of Walter Mitty in Riverdale, NY

Ben Stiller is one of our own.  Don’t go getting that twisted…  By one of our own we mean a native NY-ker.  We are not one of the chosen folk and have a bank account to prove it!  But as a fellow NY-kers go, we often feel compelled to show the love – especially when its in keeping with the road we are traveling on.  Mr. Focker happened on bringing the set for his new film “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” to the Riverdale section of NY and, as we were driving adjacent to the set, we thought to stop by and quickly snap a few pics.  What could be the harm in that?

Now, of course the thought of his co-stars being present did occur to us…  A few candids of the female leads wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Well, they weren’t!

But since we went thru the trouble of parking, we continued our pursuit of showing the love to our fellow compadre.

Mr. Stiller, however, felt otherwise.  And he was less than gracious when he happened on walking past our designated station, a ways away from the set, on his way back to his behemoth of a trailer parked alongside the H.H. Pkway.

We respectfully asked for a quicky and walk on by he went, without so much as a sideways glance.

Necessary?

Hardly!

But if we don’t run for Julianne Moore (& we still won’t,) we are not going to two-step it for Stiller.

No offense.

And his sentiment extended to an awaiting fan as well.

One Riverdale resident attempted to approach Mr. Stiller, as the set was breaking for lunch, and sheepishly asked for a photo with the comedian only to find herself rebuffed unkindly by his team.

Now ain’t that some shit?

Mr. Man can come into the hood – of his own people no less – and commandeer the parking but can’t take a 10 seconds to appease a resident.

Hmmmm.

Makes you wonder.

Good luck with the film Mr. Stiller.

Jada Pinkett Smith: Madagascar Tops Box Office Draw

Madagascar 3:  Europe’s Most Wanted tops weekend box office earnings with a reported $60 million in tix sales.  Surprised?  If you are then you are a true dumbass.  The animated film, which features the voices of Jada Pinkett-Smith, David Schwimmer, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Jessica Chastain, arrived in theaters with a tag reading ‘a sure thing’.   Sorta like hiring an escort from UES flesh peddler Anna Gristina and hoping against hope that your happy endings don’t surface as the judicial proceedings continue.

Marking the 3rd installment of an already successful franchise – one which has spawned its own Penguin’s TV spin-off – also happens on being a genre which mandates a minimum of at least two tickets per household.  Good, bad or indifferent parents must accompany their chatty brats to a viewing.  This equates to a one for the price of two in our books.

And if you think that having a parental figure in attendance is going to keep them damn kids from talking throughout the movie, well then you are truly a dumbass as them damn kids get the talking while a movie is playing bug from who else?  Their parents!

So although we are on the bandwagon to view the continuing saga of the animated jet-setters, the real numbers for this are in the half zone of what is reported, as parents accompanying their kids to the flick should get a free pass!

And this would put Pinkett-Smith’s hubby – Will Smith, who incidentally attended the NY premiere along with their fashion forward pre-teen’er Willow to the prem – back on the top post.

But however you wish to approach it – it seldomly comes to pass that the number one & two slots would be appointed to our Afro-American sweethearts.  And that is historic no matter how you slice it.

So kudos to Mr. & Mrs. Smith on a job well done.

Sarah Jessica Parker: Tower Heist Family Movie Night

Sarah Jessica Parker joins hubby Matthew Broderick for the world premiere his new flick "Tower Heist."

Sarah Jessica Parker joined her husband Matthew Broderick and son for the Tower Heist world premiere last night in NYC.  The event topped off by members of the stellar comedic cast, including Gabourey Sidibe, Eddie Murphy, Tea Leoni, Ben Stiller and Casey Affleck.

We gush about Sidibe – time and time again.  What can we say, we like her.  We are very thrilled that her return to the big screen is with a big budget sure-fire hit comedy!  Cuz lets face it, it’s Eddie and Stiller.  They have all the bases covered.

We are also tickled to see Leoni back on the screen.  She’s been sorely missed.

Alas, there was no Duchovny on the step and repeat – and this got whispers going – again.  Not that there is shock in idle minds being dumbasses.

Other notable attendees:  Melania Knauss-Trump with her comb-over husband, Serena Williams (Murphy’s date,) director Brett Ratner, Paz de la Vega, Judd Hirsch, Doutzen Kroes, Alan Alda, Sean Combs, Ariel Schulman, Tracy Morgan on a broken foot and an “up and coming” actress carrying the cutest puppy EVER!

Jessica Alba: Little Fockers World Premiere

Robert DeNiro with his wife, Jessica Alba and Ben Stiller at the world premiere of Little Fockers

Ben Stiller broke a mold when he concocted his Fockers series.  In all likelihood he will continue these flicks for a good long ass while…  Assuredly there will be a Mother Fockers, Grand Fockers, Cross Fockers – well, you get the idea.  The latest installment comes in the form of “Little Fockers.”

The great cast he managed to pull together – consisting of Robert DeNiro, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Owen Wilson and Dustin Hoffman are all back (absent from the debut was Streisand,) and this time he has gone and thrown in a little ethnic flare with Jessica Alba and Kevin Hart who brought the Gucci to the night.

Stiller is nothing if not all-inclusive!

We have personally cackled at the mis-adventures so far to date and welcome another installment of goofs and slapstick.

Other notable attendees:  Natalie Gal, Cash Warren, Laura Dern, Eddie Redmayne, Olympian Tim Moorehouse, Jerry Stiller and director Paul Weitz.

Brad Pitt: Megamind NYC Premiere

Daddy mostest Brad Pitt races thru the Megamind arrivals line in NYC

Brad Pitt brought his boys to the Megamind NYC premiere last night but raced the red carpet stag.  Bummer, I know… And as if his kids and common law wife angelic Angelina Jolie being absent weren’t bad enuf, he raced thru the arrivals line quicker than an indie-car racer!

I had to practically contort myself to get a few frames of daddy mostest.

Traipsing Mr. Man down the carpet, down into the reporter’s section of the arrivals line, I overheard the handsomest man in these here lands state this motivation in doing this animated movie was his kids.  “This is for my young ones,” he stated.

And a thousand hearts across the world swoon.

Also in attendance were: Tina Fey, Ben Stiller, Jeffery Katzenberg, Frederique, Melissa Joan Hart, Peyton and Spencer List, and twink-a-licious A&F model turned “Teen Wolf” star Colton Haynes.
