The George Clooney exterior scenes, for the Jodie Foster directed film “Money Monster,” arrived this weekend to a bevy of excitement from the pap army in NYC.
Folks have been anxiously awaiting the productions take-over of the Financial District, where a series of days would be dedicated to full on exterior scenes, for weeks.
And his first look day got some photogs up and at it, we heard, at sunrise – camped out in the bowel of Manhattan – and volunteering to skip a series of other venues scheduled throughout the day. Read the rest of this entry »
There’s little denying that “Insurgent” costar, Ansel Elgort, 21, is a breakout star. He is, by definition, tall, dark and handsome with all the necessary model good look ingredients that meet many a leading man requirement.
And as if that weren’t enough – and it isn’t for some people – Elgort delivers an onscreen likability to be reckoned with to boot. Just slip “The Fault With Our Stars” into your DVD player if you have any doubts… He also happens to have a yummy physique that can cause fevers. Read the rest of this entry »
There’s little denying that Will Smith is a nice guy. And he makes an effort to acknowledge everyone he passes. We know that for fact as we have been in his vicinity repeatedly and not only watched it happen with others but have been the recipient of it as well.
We stopped in at the Letterman stage door, a few days ago, just in time to catch the Fresh Prince of Bel Air alum’s arrival to tape a segment to promote his film “Focus” and marveled at how he managed to both greet fans, turn and do a photo run -with eye contact with every lens – with the greatest of ease and no bother what-so-ever.
And that is the true sign of a celebrity veteran! Read the rest of this entry »
Peter Scolari has joined the cast of the FOX Batman prequel “Gotham.” We learned of this new addition to the ever growing roster of on-screen talent after stopping by the on-location set, a few days ago, and spotting him – to immediate memory recall – as he exited a building from an interior scene.
Funny thing how memory works. Even with our nearsighted vision we were able to recognize the onetime “Bosom Buddies” costar at more than a baseball field distance away.
Ok, maybe it wasn’t a baseball field but more like a REALLY long city block distance away. Let’s not quibble… Read the rest of this entry »
Trawling about town recently we stopped in at the upcoming NBC on-location production of “The Slap.” They had set up camp on the elevated section of Riverside Drive – overlooking the Hudson – and we thought it a picturesque setting for a few keepsakes.
We were thrilled to have it be only a short bit before Makenzie Leigh surface looking fresh faced and ready to go about her day. Read the rest of this entry »
Quvenzhane Wallis joined her castmates Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Dorian Missick, Rose Byrne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and hottie Bobby Cannavale, along with producer Will Smith and Sandy the Dog, for the world premiere of the reboot of that ole classic rags-to-riches story “Annie,” in New York City yesterday morning into mid-afternoon.
No kidding, y’all!
The step-and-repeat ran a total of 4 hours long for the gathered press line which boasted a call time of 11:00 AM and didn’t wrap until 3:00 PM – and there folks missing. There also included a stand-offish Diaz in a non-stopping drive-by and, most notably, Jay Z and wifey Beyonce skipping the carpet all together to the moans-and-groans of a tent full of photogs. Angelina Jolie’s whirlwind push for her new film “Unbroken,” swooped into NYC – again. This time making a stop at MoMA for a Q&A screening, along with her leading man Jack O’Connell, post a day of dashing about town for a breakfast confab or other followed by a luncheon of this-and-that.
Who cares really… It’s just about the photo – at the end of the day. Or so you would think. Read the rest of this entry »
Mexican export, Gael Garcia Bernal, is award nomination bound, if the buzz around his new film “Rosewater,” which had its NY premiere last night, is to be banked on. The 35-year-old “Amores Perros” break out star and cross-over talent is even OSCAR bound, by some accounts.
Wouldn’t be completely shocking. Biteable lips, bewitching eyes and an abundance of talent too boot – a total package which make Bernal mesmerizing on screen. Read the rest of this entry »
With word that OSCAR goddess Meryl Streep was set to film exterior scenes of her new film, penned by Diablo Cody, we hightailed it to the Tuckahoe Rd., Yonkers, NY set of “Ricki and The Flash.” Yes, it was a night shoot but light would be had, or so we thought. Read the rest of this entry »
Fact: Actress Winona Ryder defined an era. From iconic roles in Beetlejuice, Girl Interrupted and Reality Bites, her name was synonymous with talent and her face became the poster child for a certain disenfranchised generation. So it was little surprise she was enveloped as the perennial Hollywood ingenue.
Then, one day, seemingly overnight, the go-to it-girl of the big screen vacated her title, and there was nothing to report about her – personally or professionally. Her return to the screen has been much talked about – just don’t call it a comeback.
