Sharif Atkins is a favorite of ours. Hands down hot chocolate central! So we need no deliberation to head on out to a venue featuring the White Collar costar. Call us bias and we’d say ‘we’ve been called worse by better.’ The USA Network’s annual Upfront presentations is therefore a no brainer. Working an open space with the likes of Alexander Skarsgard is like the worst idea EVER. Fanatics – young and shriveled – get moist. Some from excitement, the others from hot flashes. Here is an embarrassing classic example of the downside to not watching TV. Boardwalk Empire, the HBO series, which stars Steve Buscemi, stopped in Yonkers, NY recently to film on location. This being a old stomping ground, one which we happened to find ourselves in, we thought we’d take a saunter by.
We’ve admittedly never watched the show and, as a general rule don’t generally watch TV – cept for maybe Big Bang Theory, and that is if we happen to be home when its on. We did however know that Michael Pitt, Paz de la Huerta and Bobby Cannavale also happen to be part of the cast (at some point in the past.) Julianne Moore headlined the Tribeca Film Festival screening of her new film The English Teacher, held at BMCC, yesterday, clad in a purple cocktail dress and peep-toe stilettos. A thing of absolute beauty.
We worked against every obstacle imaginable to make the call time for the step-and-repeat – we kid you not! Traffic jam leaving our apartment, getting stopped by the fuzz, fire on the West Side Highway and then, as if all this wasn’t enough, a 25 minute traffic jam in Tribeca to go two blocks and find parking. This is sure to be a new take on facing your own humility! OSCAR winning actress Reese Witherspoon defies the conventional going into hiding after her and her hubby James Toth were arrested in Atlanta, Georgia for DUI, and embraces her humility by jetting to NYC to attend the Mud premiere at MoMA.
This brazen act of “mea culpa” is assuredly going to make a whole lot of folks think twice about letting their publicists take the lead in spin control. And we love her all the more for it.

We have repeatedly posted our deeply rooted love for Alexander Skarsgard. It is everlasting. So when we got wind of his Disconnect film screening at SVA Theater we couldn’t pass up the opportunity of laying our eyes on the lick-able specimen in dapper dress.
Lord help us.

Heaven sent by the gods! That’s the only explanation we can muster on Thor Aussie hotness Chris Hemsworth, accompanied by his steady Elsa Pataky and brother Luke, attending the Oceana’s Inaugural Ball at Christie’s, in Midtown yesterday. A smooth deity tanned one at that.
The down under yum-ness arrived with paps en-tow, chasing after his SUV. And what would’ve been an organized unofficial external photo-op, for the gathering presser’s, quickly turned into ‘a rush the car as they exit’ moment topped off with clambering fans begging for a signature and a photo with the strapping blond. Looking for a celebrity can often feel like you are knee deep in that retro-throwback flick “looking for Mr. Good Bar.” At other times it can somewhat feel like running into an old friend – that you no longer speak to. Case and point: Animal Rescue Brooklyn set.
We happened on just missing our intended target – Noomi Rapace – in a hot pink top and stilettos by the narrowest of seconds. Girl caught wind that we were after a photo and made like she saw an ex-BFF and hightailed it to her awaiting car as if she hadn’t seen us at all.
We then blinked and stumbled upon Belgian hotness Matthias Schoenaerts.
But unlike the first time we laid eyes on this strapping import in Washington Heights with Zoe Saldana, where he was receptive to our lens, the time time he to was a bit more stand-offish. As if we were merely a one night stand grounded in momentary carnal desire. Read the rest of this entry »
