Rooney Mara graces the cover of the February Vogue Magazine issue, looking splendid. ‘But of course,’ you would say. ‘It is Vogue!’ And you would be right. Although in this case it might be of slight mention that a five year old could photograph Mara, with a point-and-shoot, and get a cover quality shot with ease as that girl is striking.
But “The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo” star isn’t what the issue is getting attention for – OH NO – although to her credit it’s her mug being associated with the controversy.
The February issue of Anna Wintour’s bible is presently coming under fire for a fashion spread therein contained. An Annie Leibovitz’s 12 page spread. Read the rest of this entry »
We can earnestly say that we have been very lucky and minutely affected by the slaughter of Hurricane Sandy as it made it’s way across the NY/NJ region. But we aren’t daft. Not everyone has been as fortunate. Case and point: Staten Island, The Rockaways, sections of Queens and the Pelham Manor portion of the Bronx.
Our good friend and Dive Master M.Mashak shared these here pics he has crossed paths with, as he gets back to grind, out and about in the Bronx. Heavy shit.
Alas, in the throws of some in the tri-state area being made to stop their day-to-day lives, we have had to continue working for the man. Ain’t that something? As such we haven’t ventured far – never ming getting near dusting off our cameras…
But let us not digress…
Our personal belief, when it comes to turmoil, is that shit can always be worse. If you think you got it bad – cop a squat and ponder all the ways your circumstance could have been easily worsened. Or look around you and you will likely find someone who may be in a worse predicament. As such, in spite of all the devastation we are witnessing across our area – power outages, lack of fuel, no heat, flooding, property loss, et al – we truly believe that this too shall pass, for everyone, and normalcy will once again return.
And if you are alive to bitch, moan, complain, point blame at and attempt to make some sense of the chaos of it all, then you too are blessed as there have been many a case that have not been afforded this small luxury and are no longer with us to carry on.
Hang in there folks.

We love ourselves a cocktail. Hell if our cup hasn’t overflowed on occasion. Don’t you dare judge. We also happen on loving ourselves a wedding. Perfect reason to get the Sunday best out of garment bags. Sure, we never get a chance to grab the bouquet from some struggling single girl with hopes and aspiration of following in the lucky footsteps of said bride but one day we will trip some trollop and grab what is rightfully ours! And we will laugh while doing so.
But this is about our dear friends Jessica & Matt, who this Weekend tied the knot down in Bethlehem, PA.
We wouldn’t have missed this moment for anything in the world and that included an impending hurricane traversing towards the Eastern sea-board.
The French say rain on your wedding day is good luck and we take hurricane Sandy traipsing up from the Caribbean as a sign of insurmountable good fortune for the happy couple.
We are eternally grateful to have been afforded sharing in the festivities & gleefully look forward to the many happy moments that are on the horizon. Babysitting schedule at the ready!

Although its the part of daily life never mentioned in weather advisories, we are happy to point a finger to the conflict created between an expected storm the magnitude of Ms. Sandy and having to head out and work for The Man.
Not a pretty combination. And they are saying projected SNOW along with 70 mph winds! Lord have mercy…
Unlike working for yourself, having to head out and report in is one of those Debbie Downers of being the 99%.
It never seems that the coverage equates to the media hyped hysteria. But given that a few inches of rain creates flooding the likes of roadside pools you can swim in alongside the West Side Highway this will assuredly be unpleasant. Say nothing of the old ass trees toppling over on anxious motorist who can’t weather driving in inclement weather.
And still one must head your ass out to clock in.
We hope y’all have ample resources as you ready to batten down the hatches. And stay indoors as much as you can.
