Michelle Williams: Shutter Island Beauty

Michelle Williams, for once, appeared to be enjoying the mayhem that ensued upon her arrival to the “Shutter Island” NYC premiere, held at the Ziegfeld Theater, last night. Refreshing.
Clad in a one-shouldered ruffle white Armani cocktail dress and black strappy stilettos, she laughed and paid her step-and-repeat duties without much of her usual ambivelance. Something the 60+ gathered paps – three rows deep – appreciated. Myself included.
Am not to sold on the hair but lets keep it light and gay, shall we…
The film looks to be quintessential Scorsese and we are all set for a night at the movies this upcoming weekend. Any takers please feel free to contact us A.S.A.P.!
Leo DiCaprio: Shutter Island Prem
Posted by Native NYker in leonardo dicaprio, martin scorsese, premiere on February 18, 2010
Shutter Island is to awards what Scorsese is to cinema! Hands down, this is one film that doesn’t ever have to see the light of a big screen – even in limited release – to walk away with a bevy of statues come next year. Ominously, it wasn’t presented for consideration this turn around.
This could arguably be said to be due to politics. (What? Assuredly you know it exists everywhere!) Everyone wants to work with Martin Scorcese - in one fashion or another – and snubbing his projects would be suicide.
But I’m just saying this to be obnoxious. Marty’s films are the stuff of legend. No greater suspencion of disbelief exists greater than what this demure man can create.
Scarily enough, (get it? The flick is a psycho thriller!) the film’s headlining top billing went to one man: chubby-poo Leonardo DiCaprio. Go figure. Mainlining his own flick? Wow.
I am so not ready to see him walk away with a golden bald guy. He already has enough of a bad attitude to fill a stadium… But I have every faith that Leo’s performance in this Marty flick will be stellar! And in case you were wondering, the film also happens to costar Michelle Williams, Mark Ruffalo and Patricia Clarkson.
The question does remain, however, if other films that haven’t been released as of yet appear in the nominations listings why not this one?… And you thought I was kidding about the political stuff… And why is Leo so chubby?
Shutter Island will release on Feb 19th! If I only had a date…
